We’ve made it to Queenstown safe, sound and healthy. So nice to defeat the airline germs this year. Travels were relatively uneventful and all luggage made it straight through to Queenstown. We even had time to enjoy a long black from Retro Espresso (think espresso bar in retrofit Airstream camper) while watching the sunrise in Auckland.
We had a car waiting for us at the airport which made getting to our new home a breeze. The view, the house and the location of the new place are incredible! There’s even snow on the peaks which means winter is right around the corner.
We even had the time and mustered up the energy to go for a great de-jetlag run on the track around Lake Wakatipu. Lucky for us we have about a 5 minute walk down to the lake and this great trail.
*Kia ora is a Māori language greeting which has entered New Zealand English. It means literally “be well/healthy” and is translated as an informal “hi” at the Māori Language Commission website Kōrero Māori.
